R Class Sunshades on 2nd Row Windows
**********************************
Dear Mr. xxxx
Thank you for your internet inquiry.
We appreciate your interest in the Mercedes-Benz R-Class. A tentative
release date is anticipated for fall 2005; however this is subject to
change. While definitive information for this model is currently being
finalized, we can advise you that a rear seat sunshade will be available as
part of the Comfort Package.
If we can be of any further assistance, please feel free to e-mail us again
or call us at 1-800-FOR-MERCedes (1-800-367-6372).
Sincerely,
Keith Casa

Here is a close up of the sunshade slot and tab:
MB in some of their literature speaks of "dual sunvisors" as part of the Comfort or Sunroof Packages, but no mention of Sunshades.
The Rs I saw today definitely did NOT have this... see pics. guess it's part of some package? these were R500s in these pics, so it's not that those are on a 500 but not a 350.
Thx

The procedure for synchronizing the Power tilt/sliding sun roof is on page 258. After service by the MB dealership my sun roof and shade jammed open. My first thought was the fuse, when this was OK, then the time and cost required to change the motors.
I then found the reference to synchronizing in the manual, and followed the synchronizing procedure and the sun shade and power sliding sun roof came back to life. Took me several attempts.
- Remove and reinsert the fuse for the power roof
- Fuse box located in the rear RHS of my R500
- Turn ignition on
- Close the sliding roof
-Then close and open the shade
- Ignition off and on
Hope this works out for you - If you have a sync issue the MB dealer service center should be able to do this is a few minutes.
Need the blinds plus new door panels at least.
It's option code 297
