noise
Make sure your very back rear windows are not open, they just vent open and it is very easy to not notice they are open. The controls are on the drivers door, bottom set of buttons. I find the car to be very quite in all conditions.

I have the same problem. Sounds like air leaking in from the passenger side rear door window. My back windows are all closed. Must be a common issue. Let me know if the dealer can resolve it for you and if so what the fix was. It's quite annoying.

Do the two of you have 3rd row A/C? If so check and see if the vents are all the way opened/closed. I have seen cases where the 3rd row vents not being all the way opened/closed will cause a hissing noise.

I have the problem w/ our '07 R350. I took it in to the dealer for our first service and informed them of the problem. They kept the car for two days and told me that "the noise was normal for this vehicle and is an operational characteristic of this vehicle" and that it occurs on all R class. What a bunch of bull! Does this indeed happen to all R class owners? If so, I am going forward w/ a formal complaint based on the Lemon law. I believe this is a manufacturer flaw and is unacceptable for the amount we pay to own this vehicle.
