Question:
Did you do an alignment after the lowering? If so, were they able to adjust for all of the negative camber you're creating at that height? The reason I ask is on my lowered E500, I'm chewing through tires every 10K miles or so because of uneven wear. The W211 cars just don't have enough adjustablility (<---Made up word ) to allow for the negative camber created when you lower it.
I'm wondering if the R-Class has the same problem. I talked to the service manager at my dealer and he said that I shouldn't lower it because of possible alignment issues. He could've just been saying that to try to prevent me from doing it, but all of the W211's that are lowered have this problem.
That said, I'll probably lower my R500 anyway. Yours looks great but I wonder what the consequences are going to be down the road.

About the consequences of lower, if you wife is the main driver and I'm sure she will prefer the stock ride. H&R firm up the car especially with my 22". For me I love it, it never feels like a van again. But don't quota me, I used to have coilover suspension on almost every cars I have, so I get used to firm and lowered cars. Other than that, it look 100x better

I only drove it 2 days after its been lower before dropping it off the body shop. I will do the alignment when i get back my car and keep you update.
About the consequences of lower, if you wife is the main driver and I'm sure she will prefer the stock ride. H&R firm up the car especially with my 22". If I lower it, I can use links from adustableairride.com for about 275.00 total.
Keep us updated on the alignment. I'm interested to see what MB says about that.

Yes, If you have full aitmatic, you can buy the linkage kit from John. He told me I can have half kit to lower my rear. The H&R firm up the fronts, but I feel the rear lowered with Star Diagnostics are the same, if not firmer than the front. Maybe I've set the ride height with only 2 finger gap left. If you're not going to slammed like mine, I'm sure it will be much softer.

Had the springs installed today. Took 6 1/2 hours in a independent shop. The whole strut assembly needs to go off.
I then tweak the rear right height using Star. The height from lower wheel lip to fender is:
Front 23 3/8"
Rear 23 1/2"
There are left/right rear inclination angles that need to be measured and entered once manual rear height is set. However I don't have the tool to measure, so I put in the same existing numbers in control unit.
A short test drive impression is flat cornering and still cushioned ride over pot holes. The whole car feels more nimble in turns and the ride quality is just tight enough for my taste and kids' comfort.
Tomorrow I'll get the wheels aligned and all should be fine.

Ouch!!!
Yo, that is sick!!! I just got my R500 looking into 22" first then I will probably lower depending on how it looks with the 22". I love the Fog Lights. I have seen some other threads on this but did you do it yourself?

If you are going with 22", I am 99% surer you'll need to drop it. Look again at XRX's before and after shots with his big wheels and you'll know why.
