I love my 2016 gl350
Love MY R but,
We love our R-350 and very happy with our choice, but my wife is always complaining that she miss having a digital clock that she can see (we tried the navigation screen but we could not find a digital clock screen) + she miss having a place to sort our coins. minor things, the car is great.

I've heard at least one person say the newer head unit (which probably is a requirement to upgrade to the newer software) is prohibitively expensive - (costs the same as a used 420 sel).
I like my analog clock - there's a reason several luxury marques went with an analog recently - easier to read (for me atleast).
As for my "smoking package" - I store my coins in the illuminated ash tray - since I don't smoke.
I've noticed there isn't alot of places inside to put small items - which is probably part of the design - you don't want stuff cluttering up that gorgeous interior anyway.

I had chance of driving an 09 while my car was at service. I actually like my 06's COMAND unit much better. The joy stick on the right is much easier to use. The flip open unit is very cool (09's can't open). The side buttons makes shortcut much easier. However, 09's does bird view, which is nice.
