Service A cost Info.

F.Y.I:

My 08 R350 just displayed "service A dues in 26 days". It has only 4300 miles on it (bought in 5/08). My guess that it goes by yearly interval.

I called my SA and he told me just do the oil change for $135.00 instead of full service A for $250.00 because my R has little mileages on it.

Also, he told me that MB USA has downgrade the oil change interval from 13,000 miles to 10,000 miles.

Correct. The service is annual or mileage, whichever comes first. The interval is 1yr/13k miles.

This is a pretty easy DIY if you're up for it.

Service A Cost

CL500, can you comment on how to clear the service notice from COMAND? Is there a DIY process for it?

Here is the link

Do a search "service indicator" and you'll find it.

oil change cost update

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, I just had oil change / oil filter and reset the service A at the dealer this morning.

Here is the list:

1 oil filter = $24.73
9 Qts of oil = $62.55
Oil disposal = $ 2.00
Labor = $ 30.00
Tax = $ 7.16

Total = $126.44

Not bad for $30.00 labor.

Car wash, coffee and breakfast = No charge
Lubricate all doors moldings for rattles = No charge
Loose or broken plastic tabs in the back of power lift (back order) = No chagre (My fault from previous attemp to remove)

I take mine to JiffyLube. Reset service indicator myself. $179 not bad considering the cost of the synthetic oil that meets the MB specs. being around $90.
