New Brakes
Time has come to put new brakes on the R350 and I need a little advice. I have been calling around and have gotten quotes from $800 to $1000 to get this done. I figured I could do it my self for a lot cheaper. Where is a good spot to get the parts online. I need all 4 rotors, pads and sensors. Will I also need any special tools? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

R350 4-matic
I just had mine done at the dealer only because I knew it was coming, but was putting it off and then the idiot light comes on, so decided not to put family in danger by waiting 'till weekend. $1259+tax was total bill for rotors & pads. Turned out to be a good thing, as the rear discs had a serious lip on both, and the front pads were almost gone.
Priced parts, and if I had done it myself, it would have cost me $650 & change using OEM parts, and around $450-500 going aftermarket.
But I'm not too upset, the rotors/pads went 56k miles. Not bad at all, but when they get to that point, they really do degrade quickly. I went from noticing that yeah, it's probably time and checking them w/ a casual visual to DAMN! I got to get it done this weekend, to idiot light within a week - 10 days.

You should not even take the wheels off prior to owning the Mercedes service DVD.
You're going to need either a 7mm or 9mm allen driver, sizes most folks don't have.

REPLACEMENT, not reuse, of bolts that mount the caliper is required.
You need a torque wrench.
Genuine parts discounted here: http://www.mercedespartssuperstore.com
Look up part numbers here: http://epc.startekinfo.com

Does anyone know where to get the Repair Manual or Mercedes Service DVD? I plan to do the brake job on my R500 as well. Maybe we can share the info and post some pictures/instruction here....
