You may want to do a search on "Chrysler" or "Fidelity" on MBworld and there are many discussions regarding this topic.

I agree, I got the Fidelity Warranty last fall. I have not had a claim on it yet, still under factory warranty, but my research from last fall pointed me to them as the best choice. The dealer's prices on extended warranties were way too much for my pocket book at the time.

I believe there are some independent dealer/agent on Benzworld and MBworld selling Fidelity warranty at very competitive price. You can search and ask around.

Read this about Fidelity. I am not sure I would buy extended warranty from them, unless I read the positives...http://www.consumeraffairs.com/auto_...delity_p2.html

When doing research on extended warranty companies one thing was consistent -- all of them had customers who were not happy. The fidelity one had complaints also, but they had a lot positive reviews too. Most of the warranty companies I researched out there only have negative reviews. I didn't like having to buy one, but owning a mercedes requires me to have one IMO, and I picked the one that I thought had the best reputation, albeit not one that was completely untarnished, but better than their peers. I can say this for now since I have yet to ask them to pay a claim. I am hoping the R500 goes the 7 years or 100k miles and I never need to find out how good or bad of a company they really are. I do understand that by nature all extended warranty companies will try to deny claims if possible, this is how they make money -- so I go in expecting that attitude from them. If anyone has had great experience from one that they own, I would like to hear about it just for FYI and to help out the original poster.

Has anyone tried to use the auto insurance "extended warranty" coverage? I notice my carrier State Farm in NJ offer such option...

We just purchased our new R350 (new to us) last month and so far it's been at the shop twice.. We still love the car but this has been at the very least an eye opener regarding the need of an after-market warranty. The dealer recommended a warranty by "Easy Care" / APCO. The prices didn't seem that bad (48/85000/$100ded=$2185). I figure that's roughly the price of an A/C repair. The covered items seemed extensive as the non-covered items seemed to be pretty well spelled out. We are still on the fence as to which company to go with. Does anyone out there have any good stories regarding after-market claims. I've read my fare share of complaints, but I'm really chalking this up to disgruntled owners with invalid claims denied.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
