Do you call your R a Van, SUV or Crossover?
Just curious, when you talk amongst friends, your family etc.. do you find you and others refer to the R as a Van, SUV or Crossover? I got my wife asking me to run out and grab something from the van the other day. I always thought of it as a crossover and she has too. However the term "van" slipped and I was wondering what do most people refer to it as.
IMO the reason I don't think of it as a van are because the roof line & head room seem lower like a wagon or crossover. It has traditional rear doors. You can't walk from the driver seat to the rear because there is a console like a sedan in the center. Also I've never seen a van with dual exhaust.
However, I've parked next to a Honda Odyssey and I swear the R was an inch longer, and shared nearly an identical side profile.

My kids call it a van simply because we replaced our 'unreliable' Odyssey with the R Class. By its sheer size, my kids still feel that it's like a minivan. They prefer the sliding door though. I don't have a problem regardless of what other people categorize the R class as.

My wife got out of a Chrysler van to go to the R and she gets very irritable if the kids or I refere to the R as her "van". We usually call it "the R" or "mom's car" since the Mercedes doesn't work in a multiple Mercedes family. When talking about it to friends we usually describe it as a crossover (at least when my wife is in earshot!).
I will say that while it has the size and a lot of the conveinence of a van it sure drives a whole lot nicer than one!

I call it "Crossover"! The word minivan is banned when referring to my car. And I promptly correct any one like my sister in law who said Hey I didn't know Mercedes made a minivan
