Wait Briefly - low front-end
Hi all,
Today for the first time since owning car 15 months ago, the front end of our R500 looked low. When I got in to start car, it said "wait briefly" on dash...I think it was trying to elevate front. I have the sports suspension w/ the airmatic(i think).
Have any of you guys experienced this, and is this the beginning of something? If this is BIG problem, I should get checked out asap but we're going skiing in 2 days and I want to make sure this is okay.
Any input from you guys would be appreciated.
Patrick

Patrick,
My R350 has the full air suspension as well, and I have not had any problems to date. My Audi allroad has a similar setup which I have had more than one problem with(it has 110K on it). My experience from the Audi is to get it checked out ASAP. If you have a small airbag leak, you could go like this for months, with only a sag overnight. Or it could be a bigger leak in the bags, regulators, air lines, couplings etc. that could cause your compressor to run excessively and burn out.
I would take it in for piece of mind.

This exact same thing happens to me all the time. I will wake up in the morning to find my car slammed to the ground (kinnda looks cool) and then I see it raising it self and on the dash it says "Wait briefly! I did take it in and my service writer told me it was normal. Basically the car is always trying to find level. Did you leave your wheels turned to the left or all the way to the right? Because that seems to happen when I don't straighten out my wheel. But just for peace of mind have it checked out, as I did! Let us know what happens.

Go and get your dealer to check it again or take it to another dealer. Definitely something's wrong...

2006 R500
How do I know my R500 has air suspension? By lookin under the car?
I have 2006 R500 and I thought it does nto have air suspension. When I went to dealer recently and asked to verify what warranty repairs done on it one of the item is replace compressor etc for airmatic. I was surprised.

Just got R500 back - replaced Front Left strut(Right side replaced last yr), and also replaced driver handle for keyless open. They also replaced front brake pads for $270. This was a surprise that front pads only lasted 19k miles...but at least they didn't reco/push for replacing front rotors also (bmw always pushed for them in pairs).
P.S. Had a nice GLK rental for 4 days...nice/peppy and not a bad car, but not worth $10k more than my current R500.
