Smile I am looking to buy an '07 R320 CDI. Should I?

I am looking at an '07 R320 CDI with 45k Mls here in Colorado. Looking at reviews the opinion and experience is all over the place. This is for my wife. I drive an CL600 myself so am used to quirks. But I would prefer not too many issues.
Any quick opinions on yes or no?
Thanks

The only quirk might be making sure Diesel is always put in the tank.

I'd hate to see what would happen if someone put gas in there accidentally. (Like kids)

Other than that, I love my diesel.

We just bought a CPO R320CDI and so far (about 3 months) are very happy with the car. I drove it on a day long business trip over country roads and was very impressed with the handling and the comfort level.

I know some people reported 29 mpg +, I guess I drive too fast. I am getting 24mpg.

I'm easily getting 500 miles to a tank when city driving.

I can't help you on the diesel as I have a gas R350. However in terms of issues my car has had it's fair share (Thank god for the CPO warranty) I would steer clear of any R with the power rear hatch, everyone that has that option seems to report problems. Mine has been adjusted, had parts replaced a dozen times and it still isn't 100%

Also some people love the full sunroof, but many complain that it rattles on some cars? make sure yours doesn't or get a car without it.

Good luck, in hind sight I wish we had held out for a diesel but few were availible at the time we got our car and at a much higher price point than I got our '08 R350 for.

Bought a 2007 in March. Spent over $2k on repairs so far. I wouldn't buy another one. Diesel engine is a great thing but what about everything else that goes wrong!

Care to ellaborate what issues you experienced and what mileage you have? Was the car a CPO?

Several electrical problems with no explanations: Back latch opens on it's own or won't open at all (on-going); wipers start on their own; sun roof would not open for a couple of weeks; command center stopped working (pulled out fuse, put it back and it started working); panic alarm went off for about 45 mintues, couldn't get to battery under seat because seat wouldn't move far enough); driver's window sometimes stops working automatically.

Repalced O2 sensor

Waiting for an engine part now because car will not accelerate. Part $200 plus 5-6 hours labor.

Not CPO but got a fantastic deal--guess this is why. 66,000 miles.

Always worried about what electrical problem will come up next!

Sorry to hear that. I ve had only minor problems with my R500 all covered by warranty. To the OP, a warranty is a must for this vehicle as repairs cost a lot.
