R350 ac woes

Hi all I have a 2006 r350 that I purchased as a non runner with the engine in the trunk. I replaced the motor with a used one and it runs great but I cannot get the ac to work. The compressor was siezed up probably from laying around so I replaced the compressor, drier and expansion valve. I vacuumed and recharged the system but got a code for a faulty pressure switch which I replaced but still no go. I can actuate the compressor thru star and it blows ice cold but the compressor will not come on with nomal use. With star I can see the pressures so I don't think it's the pressure switch. I have checked all connections and tested continuity on the wires and all is good. Have run out of ideas now so any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

So I still have this a/c problem with the code 9006 showing up. I have added a new ground from the compressor, checked the ground point at the a pillar but still no go. There is a firmware update for the control unit can I do this with my star system?. I have the chinese version that's not recommended to go on line. Thanks

I am using 12/14 version. when I ran the tests fault code 9006 was showing and a fault with pressure switch but I have replaced the switch twice still no luck. have checked all wiring and all is good also in das I can see pressures being displayed by the switch.

Just a quick update on my ac problem finally got it sorted by purchasing a used genuine Mercedes compressor. When I fitted it the 9006 code disappeared and the ac runs great. The 2 new compressors that I bought would not work on my r class but worked perfectly on a w211 e class and a w203 c class. I contacted the company that I purchased the compressors from and they assured me they supplied the correct compressor. Next job to do was the noisy diff bearings it was a very straight forward job that any modestly talented home mechanic can do.l purchased the genuine timken side bearings from summit racing equipment for a total of $71.83 inc s&h. The hardest part of the repair was pulling off the old bearings but I managed to use a 2 legged puller and they came off quite easily. I put the crownwheel carrier in the freezer overnight and warmed the bearings in an oven for 10 mins and they dropped straight on! Help this helps anyone who is contemplating doing this job it really is quite easy just make sure the bearing spacers stay on the same side as they came out.

Drive implies it works, I have an 06 R350
Quality info, thanks. I wonder if you get a different resistance reading on the one that works vs the ones that don't.

I think the supplier is using a non genuine solenoid with too high a resistance and that is why you get the 9006 code short to ground. What was confusing is that star was telling me it was a faulty b12 pressure switch. I reused both compressors on other cars and they worked perfectly. How I confirmed it was the solenoid was by making a wire to jump the solenoid on my 2007 gl to the r350 and the code disappeared. totally pissed off with the supplier but so happy I cured the fault.

2007 R350
Hi, I am noticing that My 2007 R350 had two different compressor options for OE (Denso and Nissens). Do you remember the branding on the OE compressor that you picked up that worked? My OG compressor died about 3-4 years ago, I replaced with a Nissens, it was always a bit chattery but blew nice and cold, until last summer. Just checked and dead, no clutch engagement, and low/high side pressure are both 75 psi with AC switch turned on. No freon leak detected.

I want to make sure I replace this compressor with the right one, this time.Thank you!
