Does my R have a torque converter drain plug?

Needed to verify whether or not my R-class has a drain plug on its torque converter.
I'll be doing the transmission fluid service in my driveway soon and didn't want to spin my wheels looking for something that wasn't there.

VIN:4JGCB6FE1BA114854

I had my last tranny service done at the stealership and I told them I wanted the TC changed.
They initially charged me for the extra time/labor and additional quarts but I don't recall seeing a line item for a new drain plug.
On the final bill most of the charges were removed and I just thought that they felt bad for not doing the TC drain as part of the standard service.
But now I wonder if there was a drain plug after all. The service advisor never said anything about it. So Im left wondering if he did it for free out of the kindness of his hear OR there was no drain plug to begin with.

Im looking to order a replacement drain plug for the job this go around.

Thanks in advance

I was actually looking for the specific torque converter for this vehicle but its not listed.
I figured I would be able to tell from the pics if it had a drain plug but the TC is grayed out and not listed as an orderable part.
There is a "CAPSCREW WITH HEXAL. DRIVE" listed but I don't know if that's another name for drain plug or not.

Any clarification is greatly appreciated.

I started doing some google sleuthing trying to see what an actual torque converter drain plug would look like on the MB parts list and I came across this photo.

Since that's nowhere to be found on my VIN specific parts list then its safe to say that my TC does not come with a drain plug.
Hope this helps someone else down the line.

I have an early 06 R500 and it does not have a torque converter drain plug unfortunately. I rotated the engine assy over multiple times tying to find it when I was doing my first Trans oil and filter change. The fluid was black as ink and really hoped it had a drain plug.

This place is a joke.
I haven't seen a converter drain plug on any MB since the early 2000's...but then again I haven't been looking much.

That site specializes in parts for diesel vehicles.
I can't say with absolute certainty, but if yours has a plug I bet this would fit.

That said, it's also possible to clean the one you have and coat the threads with Locktite for reuse.
I bet plumber's Teflon tape would do it too, with a snug tightening..

I see.
Well Im pretty certain that my vehicle does not have a drain plug of the TC as the shop didn't find one (charged me 0.5 hrs of labor looking) and non is listed in my vehicle specific parts catalog.
Also, the fluid change interval of 70k miles doesn't seem to be different from those with drain plugs to those without. Only way to sleep better at night is to not worry about it OR remove the TC and install your own drain plug.
I'll go for not worrying about it (since it wasn't critical enough for MB to install one for me) and making sure I stick to the maintenance cycle.

But it begs the question ... why do some TCs have drain plugs and some don't.

I believe MB removed the TC drain plugs when the oil service for the transmissions was removed, even my old C230K from yr2000 never had a drain plug, you had to change as much oil as possible and the filter, replace sump. run and drain a few times to dilute any old oil, have MB re-introduced transmission oil changes to the service schedules, I don't think ether of mine has been done, the Viano is on 333000miles and the R on 140000miles

I have found that the absolute best way to know if your specific vehicle has a part or option is to look up its VIN via the mbepc.net.
If your VIN shows a torque converter drain plug then it has it. If it does not then it doesn't.

Surely enough there was no drain plug listed on my vehicle.
