2007 R350 Fault Code P0016

2007 R350 Fault Code P0016
Hello!
I recently purchased a 2007 R350. I am in the process of sorting a few issues out as I assume the car was not taken care of by the previous owner/s.
The day after I bought it the check engine came on and then off, I scanned it and it read P0016 cam/crank misalignment. I had the shop clean the sensors and clear the code. It was a completely different driving, responsive and smooth shifting. The next day 'Check Engine' on then off and with noticeable performance loss.
There is a 'whining' noise coming from the front of the engine and is associated with the RPM, does not make this noise whilst coasting.
I am located in Seattle and would love any advice for a good shop OR more preferred someone a ton of MB knowledge a garage wants to make some side money and/or guide me to success as I wrench on it myself. I have T1N as well so I am no stranger to MB wrench work.
Any and all advice would help, I just had a baby and bought the R350 cheap because well it's the perfect family vehicle!
