R63 in Japan

Hi all,

I acquired an R63 in alabaster white back in June.
I was not paying attention to the R63 up till now, but just wondered how many were built and was doing a research on that and came here.
Just wanted to say hi, and share some of my ride's pictures.

I de-badged the 6.3 AMG badge on fenders.

Pretty low numbers on the clock. Been used by a dentist in souther part of this country for the entire time, single owner since new, and I am the 2nd.

De-badged rear view. Am also thinking about painting the muffler cutters in black to keep the car even more sleeper style.

Is your's a short wheelbase model? How about a photo from the side with the fuel filler?

Are you from Oregon (I saw one of your posts on another thread)?

Are you a fan of Glocks (Glockster?)?

Hi there,

Yes mine is SWB model, and all Rs officially imported by MB Japan were of SWBs. Only a few made it to the shore from US with LWB as grey imports.
Funny, I just realized I do not have any pictures that I had taken of my R on the right side. I will post what the used car dealer sent me.

I spent my time in Oregon between 93-98 mainly in Eugene after attending a college in Clackamas.
Indeed I had a Glock19, now called the 2nd gen at the time, which I bought new at a local gun shop.
I loved it, I wanted to bring it over but no pistols are allowed over here so had to transfer ownership to one of my friends.
I still remember the serial number of the gun, if it were on a market I would love to buy it back, I loved the gun that much.
Oh yeah, I even went to the concealed carry class but my status did not allow me to have one. Shame. I miss Oregon!!

Hi,

I thought I replied but my post has gone no where, so I repost.

Yes mine is SWB, and all Rs officially imported by MBJ were of SWBs. Most of them were R350s so RHD, but Rs with v8 came as LHD.
I realized I did not have any pictures of my R taken from right side, so I will post what the car dealer I bought this from had sent me. Notice the 6.3 badge on the fender still.

And I was in Oregon mainly in Eugene between 93-98 for my school, and I had a Glock19 at the time. I even went to concealed carry class but was not able to get a permit.
I remember it was the time when the Brady law was still in effect, and I had to pay 75bucks a pc for 15rd magazines... Good old times.

I live in France, and bought my R63 in Sweden, but our address in the States (for voting, etc.) is in Oregon. My wife grew up in Eugene, and we still have family there. So that makes at least 3 Oregonians on this site with R63s, even though we are scattered around the world.

One of my sons is a Glock guy. I'm a Heckler & Koch guy myself.

Nice! Question: Does this Japan R63 has a CA Emission sticker under the hood? Thanks

Interesting! So if it's a SWB, is it missing the third row, or is there just no cargo area?

Kanagawa, huh!

Hi, been a while. How is life over there in France, over here number of covid-19 is rapidly increasing.
Jee man, I love to go back to any parts of Oregon anytime. I dont get to go to France but to Germany yes so if you want to travel to Stuttgart in June, lets have a beer.
Got myself an airsoft G19 2nd gen. Super stoked. Little different in detail here and there, but the G19 is that.
Stay safe, and well.

Heck no! We have no relation whatsoever with CA emission bulls.
We have our own.

Still got the 3rd row, just little, by 30cm or so, shorter leg room for the 3rd row people.
And yes the cargo space is close to what you get in 2seater coupe when the 3rd row seat is deployed.

How did you get I am in Kanagawa, you could decipher Japanese letters???
Indeed. If you are around, give me a shout, we get the drink together, with social distancing.
That could involve some speaker phone on ours though. Sucks!!!!!!!

I had a V10 RS6 in Toshima-ku up until a couple of months ago Wish I'd followed this thread earlier, we could've gone done the Ashinoko Skyline drive... I literally just did it in September with a buddy just before I left Japan.

Right, you were stationed in Japan then? Shame we missed that, but hopefully there will be next time.

Stay safe.
