2007 R63 9,500 miles (15,000km). Not a typo: 9,500 miles

Just bought a 2007 R63. 1 owner car - I will be the second (technically 3rd). First owner had it for 18 months and then transferred it to the second owner (spouse) 11 years. This will be my second R63 after selling mine almost 10 years ago lol

Owners rarely drove the car, and ended up parking it in their garage, and leaving the country only to return 10 years later!

Congratulations! Great find. I see it is registering in kilometers. Is this a European or Canadian vehicle? Could you share photos of the interior?

Wow hell of a find! I did not think any of these were around with such low miles.

Car is still at PPI, so interior pics later. This is a Canadian car so if ever listed for sale, it's easy to bring over to USA. West Coast car so no rust whatsoever.

I am pretty sure that this is the lowest mileage R63 in the whole world. Essentially, it was rarely driven over 3-4 years, then, just stored for a decade in hibernation while
the original owner was away in another country. This R63 was basically a car at one of his vacation homes, that he simply didn't get a chance to visit often.

I will do a full service once the PPI is passed, and I mean everything.....all fluids (coolant, transmission, differental, oil, brakes), spark plugs, all filters etc. etc.

If I keep the miles low....in another 3 decades, this will surely become a classic as per Road and Track

I'm assuming the people doing the pre-purchase inspection are aware that the car sat unused for 10 years? The low mileage is great, but sitting for 10 years unused can result in engine gaskets and rubber parts (like the airmatic suspension) drying out and needing to be replaced. So were the head bolts replaced during the initial 3-4 years when it was driven lightly, or since the 1st owner came back from his 10 year absence? I wish you the best of luck with this and look forward to seeing more photos when you can.

Well, unused for 10 years is a bit of an exaggeration. The 1st owner visited yearly for short stints, but with his kids grown up, he rarely drove the R63 with other cars in his garage. So he told me he did drive it briefly each time.

I had my Mercedes tech friend inspect the car visually, and it seems all good. But as you said, we won't know until its up on a hoist and a full inspection/diagnostics is run. I have asked for a borascope of the internals wherever possible. Having owned one myself in the past, I am well aware of the weak points in this car. My intention will be to run ARP Weistec studs, replace with black series lifters, and also upgrade the transmission oil pan to a Weistec unit. Of course, when I am in there, I will replace whatever needs to be done proactively such as new gaskets/seals anywhere and everywhere.

I want the engine to be bulletproof as I dream about the possibility of installing a Weistec supercharger, strengthened Weistec transmission rings plus a full front and rear Brembo GT kit.

Thank you for your advice!!!

I honesty cannot imagine there being another one out there with any lower miles. Definitely flush out the fluids.

The PPI was perfect. No issues other than needing new wiper blades, brake fluid flush and new tires (DOT 2507).
Compression test was:

215 210
215 215
215 210
215 215

Bought the car.

Thanks for the photos. Beautiful car. I love the wood trim (wish my R63 had it instead of the aluminum and black plastic trim).

Hi, just waiting on parts:

ARP Camshaft cap bolts
ARP Camshaft phaser bolts
ARP Head studs (backorder)
SLS Black Series Valve Buckets
21" OEM AMG III wheels (European option back in 2007)

These parts will make the engine "bulletproof" and prepares it for what I hope.....will be a Weistec Supercharger install in the near future. If I do this, then I
will also upgrade the brakes to front and rear Brembo GT, and also get the transmission rings from Weistec. But I want to bulletproof the engine and do a full service first before
I commit $25,000 to the above 3 upgrades. Lot of coin so I am still undecided about it.....

Thanks for the update. I would be interested in information on the engine work, including part numbers, as mine hasn't had the head bolts replaced yet (as far as I know). Do you have the part number for the SLS black series valve buckets/lifters?

Are these the wheels that you ordered?

2007 R63 9,500 miles (15,000km). Not a typo: 9,500 miles-a62z5v3.jpg

My R63 came with these 21" AMG wheels, fitted with winter tires. It also came with another set of non-AMG wheels with summer tires. I'm looking for a set of the 20" AMG wheels.

You've probably already seen this, but here is an article about an R63 with the Weistec supercharger installed.

Hi, yes those are the ones I ordered. I may fit them with 21” winters and may get a set of 22” summers. If that’s the case, my stock 20” AMG with brand new Michelin CrossClimate tires will be up for sale.

Shop ordered all the parts. Will give you the part numbers once I get the invoice/quote.

Yeah, that Supercharged R63 is inspiring me lol.

If you drive this car in the winter - Shame on you. Absolute lunacy. Regardless, if you buy these wheels make sure you get the correct set as intended and offered by AMG. They are staggered. ET60 in front and ET48 in the rear. Rears were getting scarce when I bought mine 18 months ago from Germany. One arrived chipped and had to return. Pictured is a used front.

This is what it should look like. You can barely see the offset in this shot but its very obvious when you look at it 3/4.

Awesome Brembo brakes with those Nickel calipers. Was the set made for W164 ML63? Did they just bolt on? I’m assuming this is the case as the R63 and ML63 share the exact same brake setup.

Brembo brakes

Well, my Brembo brakes are ready!

Still waiting for the ARP Head studs before
strengthening the engine can begin...

Decided also not to supercharge the R63.

Will nonetheless strengthen the engine internals, install larger transmission pan, 21” AMG wheels, Brembo GT brakes, resonator delete and that’s it.

Keep the R63 as stock as possible. Any mods will be easily reversible like my decals 😬

Well after waiting almost 3 months, finally received all the ARP bolts (head studs, phaser and cam cap) to strengthen the internals along with the Black Series lifters.

$1600 for bolts 🙄
