I Have a 15 s coupe white on porcelain designo. I was wondering if there is a way to upgrade the key fob to the new design. The new coupe does come with the new FOB. When I asked my dealer they straight up said no, kind of got the feeling they didn't want to even look into it. Please share if you have in fact updated. thanks

My 2016 S coupe uses the "old" style as well. Much prefer the newer one also. Unsure if this can be done.

Even if the new style key would work, you would not be able to start your vehicle with a dead key fob battery or a key less go malfunction. The start button on your vehicle can be removed to allow the key fob to be inserted in place of the start button to start your vehicle. The new style key fob uses a different method that only works with the vehicles it was designed for.

that exactly what I was referring to. I have the same key on my coupe that I did on my 2008 cls550. As much as I love Mercedes was super disappointed in there lack of effort to upgrade it. I would be willing to pay for a new fob and have the key cut and programmed. However from what you are saying the internals of the newer cars use a different technology. I am sure the 2019 coupe uses the new key!
