hi guys,

would any of you know how i can remove the window tint from the front passenger and driver windows on this 560sec ?

2 ways to do it...
1. Spray it with water (with a little bit of soap) and scrape off the film with a blade.

2. Spray it with water (with a little bit of soap) either early in the morning or at dawn. Keep spraying it until the film gets soft and you can peel it off easily. You'll then need to get the glue off simply by wiping if off with a rag. This method is easier, but needs LOTS of water and LOTS of patience.

In both cases, use a water spray bottle and just constantly squirt it. It's an easy DIY job, but just takes time. Don't rush it cause you'll need to get all the glue out otherwise your windows will look like crap.

tHE BEST AND EASIEST WAY TO REMOVE THE FILM IS BY AMONIA. yOU WILL FIRST NEED TO SPRAY THE ENTIRE FILM AREA DOWN WITH THE AMONIA AND THEN COVER THE TINT WITH A MYLAR OR SUCH PLASTIC FILM TO HOLD IN THE MOISTURE. yOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET SCRAP PIECES OF THE TINT BACKING FROM ANY TINT SHOP. tHEY TROW IT AWAY WHEN THE REMOVE IT FROM THE TINT FILM AND APPLY IT TO THE GLASS. kEEP IT MOIST FOR SEVERAL HOURS AND LET IT BE HOT ( ON A SUNNY DAY). tHE GLUE WILL BREAK DOWN AND REMOVAL WILL BE MUCH EASIER. bE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE A WINDOW SCRAPER TO CLEAN THE REMNANT FROM THE GLASS. a GOOD RULE OF THUMB IS TO USE AT LEAST 2-3 FRESH RAZOR BLADES ON EACH PIECE OF GLASS, THEIR CHEAP AND YOU WOUNT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SCRATHING THE GLASS.

Use alot of blades and don't be shy to change them frequently.

you can go to napa and spend 5 bucks and get a spray for tint removal soo much easier! i did it that way took me hmm 20 mins to do all 5 windows on my 500SE

what the spray at napa is called to remove the tint from windows ?

I called 3 different Napa stores here in the Los Angeles area and they have no idea what product I was referring to..

you can also use a steamer to remove the tint. If you have access to one a department store cloths steamer works best, but you could also use the ones that are advertised on info-mercials.

i checked all the auto parts chain stores online and i could not find it.

man, that thing is hard to find here in southern california.

if you cant find it ill send it over to you as longest you pay shipping i have a good 3/4's left. I dont need it anymore i dont have tints. I think w126's look better without tints unless its a very light tint.

PS i kinda like the mirror tint-kinda bluw tint like the new benz hmm something like that would look very nice on w126 i think
