Talking New to the Forum

Hello all, I have been reading here for a short while and decided to become a member. I am a techinicain for Mercedes-Benz at Fletcher Jones Motorcars down in Newport Beach for about a year. I have allways been in love with the styling of a W126, hence the screen name. Although I don't own one, I am looking to get one.

I would like to learn all I can about these vehicles and maybe even help others with what I may know.

Sammy,It is nice to have a tech on the board. I have to ask what year and what model is your favorite 126?

More of the later year 126's, 1986 and later with the 560 "117" engines. I'm a sucker for a SEC, and about any year. I am a big fan of a 126 with euro lights, so when I do get one I plan to install a set.

the 6 bangers were 350, they had problems buring oil real bad. the 5 bangers or 300 SDs share the same problems but not as bad as the 350 diesels.

Hi Sammy
Welcome to the group(s).
I am also a W/C 126 crazed guy. Love the SEC's but can't dis the sedans either.
I enjoy both. They are 2 different cars in most ways.

Hey there Sammy I am new to this forum too! Its the first time I have seen another tech in the 126 forums. I too like the 86-91 V8's and I am a certified mechainc also. I dont work for Mercedes-Benz but judging from the reactions from our local dealers they dont seem to get much w126 action. You guys getting a lot of w126's in there for service? Also, what does your shop get per hour for labor? Just curious what the rates in CA are.

Rex
