I personally hate the MXV4 tires, they are quiet and comfortable, but have horrible handling and road feel.
Also, I doubt you need all-season garbage tires. Buy good summer tires for your car. I would reccomend the following:

These recieved very high ratings in various tests done in Germany. They are one of very few (the only one that I could find) tires in this size sold in both markets.

Doesn't this belong in the W220 section?
Anyway, it's Michelin for me. Their longevity is difficult to beat, noise level seems fine, and my driving style rarely pushes them to the limits that some say come too soon in the wet. I have them on all three MBs.
Given your location, the suggestion above about summer tyres does make sense.

Tires
I have always Used the Michelin Pilot Sport, My new MB had Conti Sport 2's, they were the wors tires ever. I just put on a new set of Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position, they are insane! OEm for Ferrari, becoming a Porsche Standard on the track, and best wet traction. They are quiet, handle unbleivable, and they are cheaper than the Michelin Pilot Sports. This was under the Guidance of Tire Rack, and they did not steer me wrong! Good Luck!

2001 E320 RWD - Brilliant Silver/Ash: 100,000+
I have Dunlops on another car (SP60) and performance/treadlife is very good. Unfortunately, I can't find any Dunlops that match the OEM specs for my E320. 215/55R/16 93H. I'm trying some BF Goodrich Traction T/A and so far I like them.

I also like Michelins, but there are no good summer Michelins sold in the US in that size.
To Musikmann, there are several good Dunlops available in the US in that size. The SP Sport Maxx, for example, a fantastic tire, and the SP Sport 01 A, another great choice.
