300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Change the Cap,rotor and plugs

use only copper plugs no platinums.
Are you burning only premium fuel?
What kind of knock?

hello
10 gal of fuel i get around 150 miles side street, i add engine oil 1qt in a month or 1.5 months

the knocking sounds like a old japanise engine that has a retard timing or negative timing from the distributoron acceleration

Do you mean pinging or a mechanical knocking?

The distributor is at the front of the engine and is fixed. All advance and retart is controlled by the EZL ignitor. The timing is adjusted by a resistor plug, I don't know where it is on the W124, this is the W126 forum.
