84 500sec stumbles only on heavy acceleration?

84 500SEC stumbles only on heavy acceleration at about 3700 RPM and progressivly gets worse as the rpm goes higher, this all started after a mechanic fixed it when it started to suddenly idle very low, and run very rough.

What did your mechanic fix?

Could be any number of things. Clogged fuel filter, timing, vacuum leak,

High rpm stumble that gets worse with increased rpm is usually, not always , fuel related. Once I had a worn distributor upper bearing in a chevy that did this but it was more like it hit a wall and wouldn't accelerate past a certain rpm. What did the mechanic do to correct the idle issue?
