Lars:
It depends what you want to accomplish: speed v. style, mild to wild... I would go with a set of R129 SL 18s if I started again.
what year is your 500? b/c if it is a later version, you can drop in a 5.6L They use the same CIS-E injection from 9/87 if I remember right.

No Problem!
I lived in the UK for 4 months in the fall of 2001. I visited Norway at that time, beautiful country. I traveled from Oslo to Bergen by train and then took a ship through the Fjords, awe inspiring beauty!
To your question, I cannot provide any help for you sadly
I know virtually nothing about infotainment stuff. I have a system, but thats about all. My best advice would be to start out by talking to your local custom stereo/MM shop to see what they have done in the past. Get an idea of what they are capable of, if they lack skill, then move on to a better shop. Probably one in Oslo as they would have the most experience with the w126.
Like I said, R129 SL 18s work well for the w126 and look nice. When you get around to engine tuning, I can help with that!
Best of luck!!!

Thanks for the kind words
Maybe you visited Geiranger?
I don`t think it is so usual to costumize a 500SE,only wheels and such.

I didn't get that far north...
I sailed up through Sognefjorden and back to Bergen. Hopefully the next time I visit Europe, I will have time to explore a little more...

Please let me know when you are in Europe, take with you the 500SE,and we can go for a spin/sightseeing
I have a Mercedes,but not a 500SE yet
Do you think it would look good with a SEC grill?
