126 tune up questions, please advise:

Hey folks,

checked out thepartsbin, and I have a couple of q's for an 83 380 sel:

1. Is the coolant Z8003-69600 a pre-mix or can I cut it 50-50 with water?
2. What type of spark plugs are best for this application:: thepartsbin lists 3 types, 2 types of Bosch (I assume one is normal, one is platinum, and an NGK 5ES)
I don't mind spending an extra $1 per plug, but I have found that getting the wrong plug is worse no matter what the cost.. just want to get the right one.

3. Is there a special ATF that this car requires?

4. Is there a special brake fluid that this car requires?

5. Should I change rear end fluid, and if so, with what type?

Basically, I am bringing a low-mileage original car out of hibernation and want to change all fluids, etc.

I can answer question #1.

If it's the Mercedes's coolent, then you'd need to mix 50/50. It should say on the outside of the container. Have fun

I'd go for the Bosch copper core plugs. Platinums are typically not recommended for MB (at least the older ones).

Many people like using Redline synthetic ATF, but I just use the standard stuff from Febi-Bilstien, available through PartsBin.

I think brake fluid is DOT4, but check your manual to be sure.

When you say "rear end" are you talking about the differential? If so 85W-90 is what you need. Synthetic is also popular.

synthetic atf

is this the synthetic atf you are talking about?

http://www.redlineoil.com/products_gearlubricants.asp

and if so, how do I get all of the old fluid out of the lines?

Yes, I was talking about the differential. 80-90w dino it is!

That's it. You have to remove the drain plugs from the pan and the torque converter to remove all the fluid. Be careful when you fill up. Do not use too much or too little fluid, and do not use towels to wipe the dipstick. Use your fingers!
