Best way to lower front end of w126. Don't want to sacrifice ride quality
Hello,
I have a Couple of 126s. I have a manual swapped 300SD and a Euro 420 SEL. On both I would like to lower the front at the very least. I would like to start with the 420. I have read that there are too many shims in the front suspension from the factory causing the raised ride? Or should I cut springs? Or go with lowering springs all around. I don't want to make the car ride horrible. I think the 420 could use some suspension work anyway. It has only 53k on it, but slaps over bumps unlike my 300SD which has had recent suspension work. I don't want to go super low with either car, just level them out a little. Any advice would be appreciated. These are the two cars below.

The best or nothing
Cutting springs is terrible and usually done by people who hate cars and have no money.
You can order a different set of pads for your springs.
Call an MB Dealer - Parts dept and ask.
