500se

To make a long story short, today I was driving back from UCB on hwy 580 I was doing about 95mph their was a 350 z in front of me. He moved out the way then he went to the next lane and gunned it and so did I! Next think I know I’m doing about 135mph and keep gaining speed fast! Well it seem like the Z couldn’t pick up after 135mph. I was still pushing strong, I got it up to 150mph then I let go because of traffic up ahead. Anyways then I got on 880 driving about 90mph again, then I saw a Honda going about 110 well I didn’t really race it I just caught with it then passed then it was my exit, so I got off.
Then I was driving local their was this Pontiac car the GPT, he had his stereo on loud, I lower my windows and he guns it ( I took of slow because I wasn’t expecting this) then I was like oh heck no so I gun it. By the time I reacted I was a car behind him, when I gun it omg the Benz reacted so fast and precious, the RPM’s just jumped up even the car’s front end lifted up! When we reached the next stop light which was about 300-400 feet form where we took off I was ½ in font and gaining on him.

Well there you have it!
Sorry about my previous version guys ! I wrote it in a few sec’s btw I aced the test hehehehe

Awesome dude... I've got an '84 500SEL. Not using it daily right now as it needs some work here and there (seat springs shot, non-functional blower motor, rough idling, etc) but it has just 155,005 miles so there should be some life left in it. LOL

One of my daily drivers is my '84 300SD.

lol im sure it has a lot of life left in it. I have heard these engines can go up to 400k without a problem if treated right. Thats a nice car you have there, a bit more luxery then mine, i dont have leather seats and stuff. My seat spring was shot too i fix that tho. These cars are hecka high maint man.

My repair list to do:
Vaccum for locks
AC blower
Trim wood for gear shift
Ball joint on left side
Motor mounts
Tranny bushings

pretty big but hey the car runs great !

Tell me about it! Mine is a Euro spec as well and has a host of issues too.

My blower motor doesn't come on when I push the A/C or heater on. The motor itself works, and I have a spare that works for if you need one to replace yours let me know and we can do something.

My front passenger window doesn't work. The airbag light is permanently on and the rear suspension is sagging so it needs work. The engine, unfortunately idles really rough so it needs work. I hope to knock it all out by the end of the year and have a fine machine on my hands.

%&*(& WHAT KND OF @#%^&*$@ S@*() ARE YOU SKMN?

Just kidding. That would be a response I would get from "certain" other car enthusiast forums.

It is nice to stretch your Benz's legs once in awhile, but it is preferred that you take it trackside. I am well aware of how GREAT it feels to pull something like this off, but just the same I try to sustain that primal instinct. Cops are around every corner, and just because you have a V1 or whatever, does NOT mean you can avoid a ticket.

Conclusion: Don't race,

just follow the energizer bunny in the fast lane, and let HIM do the watching, lol. I followed a 996 Porche Carrera to my sister's house doing 110 - 120 mph with a wide open two lane stretch. As I exited the highway, a hand extended out the passenger's side of the window. It was a middle-aged man who was passenger waving at me in acknowledgement for my car. I was the only one on the highway to have the (you know)to keep pace with them. Needless to say, I returned the wave.

We all know how fast these cars really are. If it feels quick, it most certainly is.

The 500SE is a bahn-stormer and came in several european versions. Some even as powerful as the M119 or E420/400E. Makes sense that most cars would have difficulty keeping up with the Euro.

The Euro 500SEL / 500SE engine has as much torque as the US 560SEL. I don't even want to think of how much torque the Euro 560SEL has :v

I do agree with you on being careful about doing such races. However I didn't preach to him about it because I assumed he was well aware of it. I mean, we all know not to do such things, but once in a pretty long while we just decide to go against our own rules and do the damn thing!! LOL

Something reasonable man, something reasonable. First of all, what is your zip code? Let me find out how much it will cost you to receive it from me (the shipping cost) before we get into prices. I'd like to help you out as you're just a young fellow like me who wants to have fun with the W126 chassis, so I won't be trying to make money on you. Let me know of your zip code first and we will go from there.
