1990 Mercedes Benz sl500 coolant temp 100 degrees Celsius
Hi there just picked up this 1990 Mercedes Benz sl500. It only has 49,000 original miles, just put in a new thermostat and fresh coolant. Along with a fresh oil change. It was a hot day but my coolant temp keeps going up to 100 degrees Celsius and stays there. Especially if I turn it off and on. Also my gas gauge just randomly quit working yesterday too am I going to need to have access to the fuel pump or behind the gauge cluster? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

could it be a faulty coolant sensor and or did you flush the system or is there air in the system bla bla

Yea probably air bound and needs to be bled
was it same temp thermo?

not sure exactly but usually the gas float is in tank
