84 300 D turbo runs after key is shut off
I have a 84 300d with 256,000 on it. I replaced the Transmission vacuum valve lever and now the car will not shut off with the key. The key shut it off fine before the replacement. What should be my first thing to check to see how to fix it?

1st chase all of your vacume lines that you touched.
2nd make sure the vacume valve lever is installed correctly. (I am asuming this is the one on top of the valve cover)
3rd make sure the vacume line atached to the ignition switch is still atached
That is all I can think of.

hello...I had the exact same problem with my 84 300D after doing some work in the engine...it turned out I had disconnected the iginition wire by mistake...I don't remember exactly where it was to be honest, but once I reconnected everything went back to normal...

I found the problem. A vacum line was plugged and needed to be cleaned out. Thank you for all of your input, it got me on the right path. Glad to have this forum to ask questions.
