$100 light bulb ?
a week ago, My 96 S500 was in a MB shop for service. I asked one of the light bulbs behind the instrument panel to be replaced. the estimate $100. The bulb is a few dollars but the labor to take the cluster out takes over an hour. brought the car home and hoping I can save about a $100. Need help to pull the cluster out. is there a safe way to do it? thanks in advance.

a Few Nice cars.
you need to buy the tools to do it or you will break them,its VERY easy to crack the cluster plastic so you need to be VERY CAREFUL,I dont know where to get them other then maybe try MERCEDESSHOP.COM

The cluster is a friction mount, you need to buy or make two hooks and follow the directions here:

My cluster plastic is cracked by what looks like someone who has been in at the cluster. It seems that I can only buy the entire cluster unit, I assume I can buy a new bit of clear plastic, anyone know what it costs?
