600sel
I have a 1992 600SEL with 70k miles. When driving in 90 and 100 degree temps, the car feels like it's running on 4 cylinders, only when the outside temp gets down to around 87 degrees the car comes back to life. Any help on this matter would be great.

Mobile I Synthetic is great, but I don't think it was around 15 yrs ago, and probably some other oil was used. 601db, when was your last oil change? Do you remember what type was used?

Thanks for the repleys everyone. I just bought the car 2,000 miles ago. It had 68,000 miles on it and the guy had the oil changed at the time I bought it. I do not know what type of oil he used? I almost have to step all the way down on the gas just to get the car going around 50mph on a real hot day. When it's cold it runs great. Do you think it might be a bad temp gauge? I have not replaced any sparkplug wires or any thing else on the car.

Oil has no bearing on your problem, unless there is no oil in the car...
I think it might be old distributor caps and rotors. I know your exact symptom has been solved by others with new distributor caps and rotors. Here's an example:

Here's a thread throwing all suggestions at the problem. In the end it was bad ignition coils:

This guy's problem was a gunked up EGR valve:

And, finally, how are your engine compartment wiring harnesses?
Your problem could be any of a number of things. You've just got to begin somewhere and start eliminating the possibilities one-by-one.
