s600 quieter than s500?
I know the S600 has bigger engine and different suspension. but does it has better noise insulation? will it run quieter than S500/S420/S320?
I got 98 S420 which is quiet and very reliable. thinking about buy a s600.
thanks for your input

Many things affect quietness, both real and perceived.
Your W140 body is especially well insulated from noise because of the double-pane windows. If you buy a later model it will not have that.
All the V12s are geared so they are turning lower RPMs at the same road speed than a V8. That, combined with the extra smoothness and balance of the V12, makes it seem quieter than a V8.
The later V12s (from 2003) are turbocharged, and the turbochargers make the exhaust even quieter.
Finally, tires have a huge impact on road noise. Models with an AMG kit or an S55/S65 have low profile tires that vastly improve the handling and responsiveness of the S-class, but make the ride somewhat harsher and much noisier. If quiet ride is the most important to you, make sure the model has higher-profile (non-sport) tires. Also, tire brand has a definite impact on tire noise.

My S320 and S600 are the same when it comes to road noise.
when it comes to feel. thats a completely different story, the s600 feels tighter and 'bigger' if that makes any sense....i just feel like im driving a land yacht.
in my S320, it feels like a soft marshmellow on wheels. still feels big, but it doesnt feel like im driving in a suburban, like the s600 makes me feel.

No place for one's political views
This is not the proper venue for your political views. Let's stay with a discussion of W140's rather than your pictorial bias.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. There's no political discussion in here...all we've got is his Signature, and that's gonna show up in any post he makes.

Anyway the 600 has no extra soundproofing than any other W140 I guess it could be quieter at high speed as the engine is not working as hard but thats about it.
