Replacement Stereo Needed
I have a 1995 S420 and would like to replace the cassette deck with a more modern CD/MP3 capable deck...any suggestions? I would even be interested in a stock deck with a CD player but can't seem to find any.

I would (and have) forego any thought of a CD in a car. They’re archaic. In a nutshell, CDs are outdated automotive technology. The music on CDs, like cassettes, degrade over time. A head unit that can read a solid state drive has MANY advantages over any CD player. Aside from being able to store music that doesn’t degrade, solid state drives can hold more music (a $20 16GB flash drive can hold 150 HOURS of music), and music can be added and or deleted on a whim. That’s assuming you don’t have any Apple products. If you have an iPod or an iPhone, you can get a head unit that reads it.
Here's a webpage with details regarding installing an Alpine AM/FM/digital music manager in a Mercedes-Benz and the advantages of moving away from CDs. Steering wheel controls are easily adapted as well. They're inexpensive as well.
