93 600sel

I just bought a 93 600SEL from a mercedes dealer (traded in on a new S500) It has come with all the maintenance records and seems to be in pristeen condition.

After reading all the posts on this forum I get the impression that this car is a total piece of Sh*t.

Does anyone have anything nice to say? or is this just a place for people to b*tch and moan?

My father has a 95 S600 sedan and he likes it a lot. I haven't heard any problem with his other than he wondered why his didn't come with the robot arm to bring the seatbelt to him like my coupe. LOL.

Re: 93 600sel

You should have checked the forum discussions before deciding if this type of car was right for you before bashing the car and calling it names. That is unwarranted.
Also, we don't come here to B&M, we come here to discuss our issues, and share our experiences and our love for the machines.
Sorry you feel negative about your purchase.

Ychachad you obviously misinterpreted my original post, I love my car. It's half the people on this board that seem to be unhappy. I was surprised at all the negative posts, if you believe what you read this car has many problems. Mine came with 65 pages of maintenance and repair tickets. I just had it in for a major tune up and the dealer says its in great shape just a few issues and a three grand note and it's as new. So before you go chastising me, learn to comprehend the original post.

GET AN INTAKE ON THAT BADBOY!! intake adds a good 30-40HP on those cars, gotta love V12 tuning.

p.s. even a mild exhaust would sound so unbelievable on that car and add plenty of serious HP.

intake alone has registerd 30+HP on the dyno exhaust 20+. v12 tuning is unlike anything else. The V12 motor is very detuned and choked off too so intake and exhaust so wonders.

I figured it wad de-tuned when it "only" had 402HP and 428lb-ft torque. With a bigger intake and of course exhaust, you could easily get 480+HP correct? I love the car's power though.

the later ones are even more choked off at 389HP and 420 torque. realistically with intake and free flow exhaust you should be able to get a good 50 extra HP, i know that may seem like alot but its true. ALSO, they have software for the 600's up to 95. its only selling for like $80 and it adds ALOT of HP.

this guy makes chips for all the OBD1 V8 and V12, i know this auction is for V8 but if you email him i bet he can get you the V12 software.. anyways hope that helps

No it's not a pice of S**t
I've had mine for little over a year now and I'm very happy with it and there have been no big problems or expensive repairs.

ps. Do you know about other air-intakes than www.renntechmercedes.com (costs 1980 $) ???

they charge that much b/c they know benz owners are stupid enough to pay that. just get two big K&N cone filter and you'd be shocked and amazing at both the power increase and the awesome noise. total cost = roughly $80.
