I hear that the tags for the EZ Pass dont work on these cars, since the windshield is so thick. Is this true?

Are you talking about the thing you put on the windshield to pay the toll? if so, I have an I-PASS for IL and it worked everytime I drove by. I knew that because I get the monthly statement from them. Unless your car is bulletproof version, otherwise, your windshield is pretty standard.

Did they say what type of winshield that needed that? Something heavily tinted? Maybe. My I-PASS is right below the tint line next to the mirror. And I use my hand to hold it up when I drive the other car. Worked every time.

I believe only cars with infared windshields have a problem with ex-pass. Like my 740 and w220's. Its not the guage of the windshield but the uv coating on it that doesn't allow rf waves to pass through.

Okay, but I have seen a new 745Li went by without problem too.
