Should I let go?
Bought my '99 S500 2 years ago. A week ago, the trans gave up on me. It needs new accumulators, and rear shocks, also needs vacuum pump for locks/lumbar support, and who knows what else may come in the near future. Exterior/interior looks great, it had 105k miles on it. I haven't got a price yet for fixing the trans, the car is at the mechanic now. I'm caught between selling it as is for whatever I can get or continue my journey to bringing this beauty back to 95%. What do you guys think? Does it make sense to keep it and fix it? Or should I just get a 2013 Honda accord? I'm not loaded, and the Benz is not a daily driver.

it takes money to keep a Benz up,if you don't do your own work.I think the Honda would better suit your situation.

Picked the car up yesterday... $3500, new gear selector mechanism, and rebuilt trans. It's a lot of money but the car feels waaaaaaay different : ) I'm happy with my decision to keep it. There's still some recommended work to be done, but I'll need to save up for now. New timing belt, Engine mounts, vacuum pump, wheel bearing. That about sums it up. It's a lot but little by little...
