The English club doesn't have the forums organised according to models like we do, I guess there are not enough cars of each type for seperate forums. You will have to look a bit to find the one that I mentioned. They also talk quite a bit more so the threads are longer. however it is interesting to brows.

You have been giving it the Old college try.

the person who probably knows what is wrong with the car is the person who sold the car to the auction company.
one way of figuring this out is to do a prior owner search on "carfax", and find out who the prior owner is and phone him and ask him why he sold it. You may also find out that you have one of the hundereds of cars that are submerged in floods every year. Those cars you see on the news reports of floods get sold to unsuspecting people all the time.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

I am just recalling an experience I had many years ago. The fuel delivery truck filled a gas station tank with diesel instead of velvet 98 gas in error. The station filled my car and quite a few others before the mistake was caught, the cars were all able to drive away because of the gas left in the lines, but stopped as soon as they got to the diesel. Now with a Mercedes some dope may have partialy fillled the tank with diesel, thinking it was a diesel car.
If it is a partial mix it may not be too noticeable, but enough to stall the car.

the catilityc converters i bought are aftermarket ones, does anyone know if they are going to last??
get all the codes cleared rom the ecu memory now, then drive for a week, then check agian. these cars can sound like they are running great even when they are not...the second gear start is 'normal' unless the kickdown switch is pressed (i.e gas pedal buried in the carpet)
or the e/s switch is broken
