Cooper Tires on Mercedes?
Hey guys gotta question..my S500 is getting news MB Break Pads and Sensors this week and my tires(Michelin Serengy Plus i believe) are getting worn down,the question is my Dad is part owner in Cooper Tires in the Midcities and he is telling me that Cooper Tires wil be fine the ones he is hooking me up with are the Cooper Lifeliner Touring SLE HR 235/60/r16.I want the smoothest ride possible.you think they would work?? my Uncle just had his Zero Pressure's Pilot RF taken off his 01 745il for the tires in talking about and he sadi they felt pretty good,however im a tad picky?BTW my car is pulling off to the left a tad so i will be gettign a F.E.A. aswell what else should i do to make the ride better???

Cooper Tires --- a NO NO
Had Coopper Zeon installed on my C300 Sport 2010. Started out OK, good handling on curves and all, relatively quiet (after having Contis, which were noisy) They were junk after less than 5K--worn, noisy and one was even bulging. That's what happens when you go cheap. Going for Michelins this time.

I had Michelin Primacys on mine. They will be the quietest tires for the life of the car and I think they even have a 50,000 miles warranty now.
As for the alignment, get it done ASAP, even before you get the new tires. The previous set of tires I had before the Michelins, were Yokohamas and I didn't notice the drift but over time that created a wear pattern in the tires (I think inside edge) that even with an alignment the wear got worse. I'm not a tire expert, but the guy at the tire shop said that once the tires start wearing a certain way, past a certain point they just continue that pattern.

Michelin Premier tires were designed for the W140 and the big Jaguar Sedans. They are not cheap but are worth every penny when you need to corner or stop in a hurry. I have had 3 MBs and each has had Michelin tires and I have never even had so much as a flat tire and have gotten many miles from them. Wouldn't trade them for anything.

Got the Michelins Pilot Sport A/S 3 and they are great. I wish I had gotten them sooner. The quietest, smoothest ride ever. Are 4matics supposed to wear tires quicker? If so, is it just because of the inability to rotate the tiers but side to side or is it also due to them being awd?

4 magics are heavier like the W140 and will wear tires quicker. I run Michelin Pilot sports on my W140 S500 and W208 CLK430 and Continental on the W211 E320 4Matic for summer.
