1997 w140 S600 not starting..PLZ HELP
Hi, I would greatly appreciate any help with this!
My 97 w140 s600 M120 will not turn over. It cranks and runs for a second before it chokes and stops. Right before this, I had run the car close to empty before filling it back up. It drove well until I parked it for an hour and tried to start it again.
The most recent services I've done:
Valve cover gaskets (3 weeks prior to issue)
Intake Manifold Gasket Seal Kit both sides
Full brakes and rotors and two front callipers this is when all the lights (1 day before issue)
The following day after the brakes and rotors and callipers were changed ESP, ABS, Brake light lit up on the dashboard.
Troubleshooting performed:
- Filled gas
- Changed fuel pump
- Checked fuses for fuel pump
- Fuse# 20 for the climate control unit keeps blowing
- Checked fuel pump relay
- There was water buildup near the battery ground wire that I Cleaned up and put a new battery
- Car starts when you spray brake cleaner into the intake (both ends) and then dies out
- crank position sensors did not show up in scan
Here is a list of the codes that showed up from a scan with the Mercedes Xentry system .
ME1RE fault memory
P1570 fault in DAS to right engine control module (n3/12)
P1588 fault in CAN, DAS to left ME- SFI (N3/11)

A technician advised that there may be an issue with wiring running from #20 fuse. I don't see the affiliation between this fuse and the starter.
Please let me know if anybody has had similar issues and how they fixed it. I would greatly appreciate it. I'm at a dead end. Thank you!

Hey Guys After multiple tests and trouble shooting sequences that the DAS Control Module N54/3 is missing one of the 2 power supplies, they traced the wire and found out that the wire had a cut in and repaired the the wire and now she runs and drives.

Guys I would like to send my thanks for this great community and thank you to the members who have provided me the confidence to continue this journey with this car.Just noticed that the Oil Pressure Sender Unit is not functioning and I have parked it once again.

MBWorld Fanatic!
I’m betting that the engine harness has already been replaced at least once.... They were a big problem back in the ‘80s and 90s.
Ground the lead lead to the oil pressure sender at the sender to see if you have continuity to the gauge.
