That's what this thread is about. You can buy the aftermarket lights that are mentioned in this thread (easy), or you can try and do a retro-fit a newer mirror housing onto an older car (difficult to impossible.)
The aftermarket lights look just fine. As long as you buy from a reliable seller and install properly.

ok so i bought the turn signal mirror lights but i dont no where to get that strip thing on the inside to change the color to like crystal white? all the links posted on here dont work anymore?

These are the whole turn signals. I already bought these but im talking about changing the colors like they come with that ugly orange right? i want it to be white when i hit the turn signal or hazzards and it blinks?

I guess you have not fully understood the function of the turn signals. Since they are "signals" in a legal sense, they have to be orange (or may be red). White would just be against the law, so as the side markers are orange and the turn signals in the headlight assembly are orange. I have taken a few after market lights apart for some other reason, but the result was since this is all glued together it tends to break apart and if not it would never be water and /or dust tight.

i just realized after i picked my CL up from a parking garage that they must have hit a column or another car with my drivers side mirror and didnt say anything. i only realized once i was driving up an incline on the bqe and the mirror was flapping in the breeze and wouldnt stay in the open position. motor and all controls work including folding in they just wont fold out and stay out.
i read thru this thread so i can take the mirror cover off and look in there when i get home. does anyone know thats taken their mirror cover off, if their is a clip or spring thats accessible that i might need to look at that deals with the 'break away' feature of the mirror? i found another thread on here where another member hit a mail box with his mirror and had the same problem but there were no responses.

they changed strip doesn't fit now
100 Dollars for the LED lights.(EBAY) Installed them in 20 minutes.
1. Push mirror forward as seen in pict.
2. Stick thin long flathead screw driver underneath mirror(torwards front) and pry clip up so Mirror Cover housing slides off.(be careful)
3.Take mirror inside house or work area and clean up before installing new strip
4. The led strip has 2 screws that need to come out than pull out old LED strip from mirror cover...New strip will pop in
5.Once new strip is screwed in cover take back to car to plug in and mount
6.The Led strip will plug in the 2 center inputs of the 4 prong female connector located on the back of housing on car.
Let me know if you need more help.

Those side mirror lights are hard to find. The MB dealer tried to tell me they only came in new mirror covers. But I found them on 123merceces.com for $55 a pair. They are the same as the 2003 and later models.

I want to buy these also. So, a few questions, if you don't mind. What does the connection look like? (I don't expect a picture since you already have them installed.) Are they direct replacements (meaning do the old ones pull off and these new ones snap on)? What year is your car? Did you have them painted?

niiiiiiiiiice, also too - i noticed the white LED ground lights.. are those always on???? or flicker with the turn signal? or stays on but turn signals flicker then shuts off when signal/turning complete?

Here is the web site I quoted above. http://www.123mercedes.com/w220/headlightsclass.html The side mirror lights are $55 a pair. The color is sort of a cool greenish glow. The lights look crystal clear until the lights come on. Look on You Tube for a video of a guy changing them. Basically you push forward on the mirror to release it. Then there is a clip in the inside corner undder the mirror that you have to push up to release...use a narrow flat screw driver. It clicks up so you don't have to hold it. Then you have to maneuver the outer case off by changing the angle of the mirror with the power switch. Once it is off, just disconnect the power and unscrew the old lamp unit. The new one screws in the same holes. When you slip the case back on the clip will automatically lock back in place. Once you figure out the first one the next one takes 15 minutes.
