Selling my benz......

I'm moving on to a 2005 C6 Corvette, as soon as I part w/S430 I'm gonna list it here 1st...

S430--look down at my sig for all my mods, besides that she has the V710 Mikbox upgrade, and soon to be installed S55 06' amg steering wheel.
She has been very well taken care of all maintence done at local Dealership, and professional instal of SC at Mech-Tech in Escondido Ca.
Any questions:

I'll take 33k considering I've dumped over 30k in mods on this car she looks like a brand new S55 AMG minus the badging.

Almost forgot had the whole car prof. re-painted last year, no-dents or scratches anywhere.

I own it free and clear title is in my name.

She has 115,000 miles as of today, rides shifts as smooth as silk!

Anyway I'll still be hanging around on this forum bugging you guys w/C6

I love the W220 S class, so i wouldnt have the Vette over it... but we'll see how you feel after owning a Vette for a couple of months

I owned a 1999 GMC Suburban lifted it the whole nine exhaust mods ect...I agree w/you American car makers can't hold a candle to what Germans are doing but it's a give and take thing...

Outrageous power to weight ratio! flat out cheap modability for more hp, to, and some pretty bad *** EXTIOR STYLING, not to mention Heads up display on windshield, Navi, keyless go, heated seats, xm radio, and a Six speed manual if you so desire..

I will miss the benz but I'm sure she wont be the last I ever buy....

ps..Josh I hear ya on the blower! but Magnuson actually sells the same Mp112 for the new C6 I'm still doing research on which is better in this application I love it!! I have all kinds a choices on mods all @ prices that just make you DROOL!! There just finishing a Twin Turbo application as well that will be available in Dec.:v

Two completely different cars. If I could afford it, I would keep the S class and buy the C6. The performance of a C6 is amazing. It would take a 360 Modena in a straight line without a lot of problems. The luxury of a S class is unprecedented. Nuff said.

Of course, if I really had money, I would just buy one car with both performance of a C6 and the luxury of a S, the S65 AMG.

I have an idea...keep the 'Benz and take out a low interest (1%) re-fi on the house, pull some of that equity and pay cash for the 'vette!! Then when you want to go play road warrior...take the 'vette. When you want to cruise and relax...take the S class.

Two words..."AMERICAN MUSCLE". The SOTP feeling is addicting...

I've test run Andy's Vortech kit on a C5 Z06 and it just hauls azzz, the C6 with the larger displacement will run more wicked!!! I went with the Procharger kit cuz it's a head-turner...the whine is very loud, you'll hear it coming blocks away. If your in no hurry his C6 twin turbo kit will eventually be released early next year, also Chris/Doug at ECS will release their C6 Paxton kit, their producing some stellar #'s on C5 Z06s, I'm using their methanol injection kit and these guys know vette engineering. As for the Maggie, good low end TQ but runs out of breath at the top, added hardware weight tho, I'm not feeling the raised hood.

A blown C6 will no doubt put a beating on a stock C6 Z06, but the Z is still the choice.

BTW: Any interest in buying my C6, I've got $25K in upgrades...I need a new project, the Z would be perfect. :p

Ahh man are you kidding you just got that beast!! I do love what you did w/it but I, like you love the challenge and choreography of watching the mods come together, also I think your pockets may be quite a bit deeper than mine.

Also your right about the Maggie she's pretty to look at but a DOG up top I did some more research on that topic tonight, Finally I understand

Just for ****s and giggles what would you take for her? and what RWHP did you end up achieving w/those 25k in mods?

I joined Corvetteforum.com lotta nice informative bunch over there..

I would just finance the new Vette and keep the S but she's out of warranty and I'm literally sick of the high maintence on this German gal
I'll sell her and make up the difference in cash and buy my C6 out right...

I still have my 69 Bronco, & 2001 Ford crew cab 4x4 w/Skyjacker 8" lift ect..
and my boat, so can't have everything

I down loaded the video on that Pro charged C650!! Oh my freakin' god!!!that Dyno run, the sound that Demon put out gave me chills!! I loved it!!

Last thing on tuning I heard from Andy @ A&A that for safety on the low end of the C6 it's a good idea to keep the RWHP to 550 or else Kaboom w/out bottom end work...

I sincerely think that 550 RWHP would be all I could handle or want anyway

Yeah, anything above 550rwhp is pushing the limits on a stock bottom end C6, I'm at 540/500 on the rollers with LT headers & exhaust alone, the alky injection just allows a little bit more timing at top but more of an insurance I don't melt the pistons...back with stock heads & cams, still deciding ETP heads and blower cam specs or a stroke 402, Andy just did a 402 w/ a blower that ran 739/702, btw I saw this beast run on the dyno...it's an animal!!! ECS has a 402 with a Paxton running over 800rwhp.

500-550rwhp is plenty enough to spin the tires at any given time, when I'm cruising third gear on the freeway and stomp the loud pedal, the tires will break traction momentarily before hooking up...it's frightening, but also something to brag about, I keep forgetting these cars are only 3200lbs.

If your in the valley area, Los Angeles Performance Division (LAPD) is another worthy Corvette shop that you may want to checkout.

Woo, that's a lot of miles. I know you spent quite a bit on your mods, but good luck trying to recoupe most of it.

The C5 is a great car, considering one myself, but the '05s have a lot of problems. I'd spend an extra 5-8k and get the '06.

.
What do you think my car is worth $3,000.00 bucks or what
I don't know what your talking about "Trying to recoupe most of my mod money "
If you look at Autotrader.com or anywhere else a similar year and model S430 w/same mileage and Absolutely no mods and 100% wear and tear on the paint/body is selling for $25,000-28,000 I don't think I'm being at all unrealistic in asking for $33,000 or more.

Mine is dent/scratch free freshly painted brand new SC w/warranty + other 2006 mods + after mmarket wheel & tire combo =$30,000 +++ in upgrades..
Trust me I'll get my price, if not I'll just keep it till the wheels fall off

Not to be a downer, but the only way you will get more than the "average" asking price, is to sell it to someone who knows what the aftermarket mods would cost and wants the exact stuff you've got on there.

Average Joe's, like me, wouldn't see the value in the mods, therefore, shy away from it at that price.

That's not to say that you will find a buyer...you'll just have to find the right one.

Shy away from what??A 2001 $33,000 vehicle that looks ECXACTLY like a $125,000 brand new 2006 all for a measly extra 5-8 grand over a stock 2001 S430, to get all those mods Sorry you sound like a skin flint.

You see that's where your wrong the Average buyer will apreciate what I've done.

I could see your point w/crazy stereo wheel/tire combos after market body kits, tvs non- oem exterior color paint ect...

Mine doesn't have that, I may even part out the Lowenhart wheels and put on stock S55 wheels to reach more purists.

Most my mods are 100% OEM COSMETIC making it look exactly like a brand new nicely optioned 2006 S55 AMG.
Not to mention the extra 100 rwhp

I'm patient and will find a buyer.
I don't need the money, just looking to move on to the next project

I think you missed my point. You will sell it, probably close to your price, to the right buyer who knows what mods you've put on and can appreciate them. The average schmuck doesn't know the value of the mods, nor could care less really. You've got to find the right, knowledgable person to purchase your automobile.

Most people would compare it at face value to a stock 2001 S class which would be priced lower, then look at yours (probably without even seeing the mod list) and see it priced higher. They would skip yours and look at the others. Then there's a high performance enthusiast who likes MBs...s/he will see your mods and that would probably attract him to your car versus the others.

I'm not slamming on you, just pointing out that the majority of folks shopping for a car will pass on your car, based on pricing and the extras. Personally, I like the extras you've included as I think you've dressed up the car quite well.

Good luck.

I think the asking price is fair. If I was looking at that year model...yours would stand tall above the rest as a great deal...all things considered. Your buyer is out there. Try putting it in Hemmings...you might pull higher end buyers. Good luck.
