Radiator Fan Chews Up Overflow Hose

Angry Radiator Fan Chews Up Overflow Hose
I am minding my own business, changing the airfilters and cleaning up the engine a little bit, when I notice something odd...

The hose that goes to the overflow tank seems to be a little close to the radiator fan... upon further inspection, it looks like the hose has been rubbing against the fan for quite some time... see below.

My question is... how is it layed out on yours? The last picture shows how I left it, but it seems like a stupid design with no support of any kind.

Last thing... this car has been to the dealer a few times, and the've performed maitenance under the hood... why diden't some one see that???

Mine is the same way, except the hose is roughly 1.5-2" away from the fan. I didn't notice until you brought it up, its quite close.

Use the positioning clip to move it back and forth until you find the right secure sport.

I was going to say... "damn your engine bay looks just like mine" and then I realized what happened.

I used a zip-tie hack around that clip to secure it in place so it does not slide... I'll post when I get home.

While you got it apart, check your air filters.

I was replacing the airfilters actually... And I was trying to wipe down the engine because it's all salty and crap... but it did not really help so I just said screw it.

And while you're checking your filters, for fun, rev the car without the airbox. Thing sounds like it has turbo blow off valve.

Too late for that... I already changed to K&N filters yesterday. You should have seen the **** that was in the old filters... bird feathers, literally a fist full of sand, etc...

I had the MAF covered with a wet towel while the airbox was off the engine.
