Question S600 Performance. Best upgrade? **advice needed**

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum . I just bought a 2001 Mercedes Benz S600 today, and I would like to know what's the best performance upgrade I should do. I'm willing to spend around $5,000 grand on upgrades. My goal is to hit in the 12's quarter mile bracket.

I was told about Renntech performance, what is the best upgrades for me to get, to get my S600 in the 12’s quarter mile for around $5-10g’s in upgrades? My 2001 S600 run 13.9 stock.

Reply ASAP. Thanks!

Since yours is an 01 without the twin turbo, I would stick to the following upgrades:

AMG (Mercedes Benz Parts Only):

1. Stainless steel exhaust (25 hp) ($6,000)
2. Larger throttle body (15hp) ($1,200)
3. Upgraded AMG computer Chip (75hp) ($3,400)
4. 115 HP for $10,000

Anything else may compromise the integrity of the engine and cause the car to be unreliable.

These 4 parts will be able to work on a 2001 S600?

2004 S500 & 2011 Mini JCW
Don't forget to change to air filters, if not included with the previous stated upgrades.

Yes, these will work and I have a friend who has a 2002 SL600. He added all of the same parts (plus an air box that I forgot to mention) and had great performance and reliability.

Cheaper Performance fix

Like Colin Chapman said" Americans are too fkn fat n slow", that was in 1965 but it still holds up today.
Now he was talking about US cars and drivers then, but I would hazard a guess that most S class drivers are as porky as their cars.
So.

For the owner:
eat less, exercise more, a 50 pound weight loss will offer big gains in the performance field, and (well this might be bad news for the rest of us that have to hear about how you need "more HP out of your S600")you may well live longer.
Now down to the car:
Pull out all that Fat Cat crap, ie:
seats,
sound syst.
a/c(u wont even know its gone)
command(assuming that u did not loose patience and throw a brick at it on 1st day of ownership).

Ride height systems, abc, ptc, jbc, nbc, qut, and any other abreviations that fill up MB forum boards with problems.

The two quickest times are 12.0 and 11.9 with a .336 reaction and .302 reaction times respectively.

My S600 with the AMG performance chip puts out 609 HP and 710 TQ. I have not times it but the car is lightning fast and I have never lost a race. I raced my friend in his C6 2006 Zo6 and I took him from 0- 80 MPH (I let off the gas and he came screaming by me). His C6 is very, very fast but he still is learning how to drive the car. It will do 59 MPH is first gear and 110 MPH in second.
