SL55 style blackout tails
Quick chop. What do you guys think? These old stockers are getting a bit boring, but I don't want the facelifts either. So I thought of this. I heard spray on tint doesn't work good, so I may just use window tint to carefully cut and apply.

Window tint won't stick around the corners and the edges. To do it from the inside doesn't work either.
But when ever you buy those from EBAY as posted, check how much visibility you might loose at night. In Europe most of them (black) are not legal because of the visibility, and in any case you need to add red reflectors of a minimum size, some where at the rear of the car, which looks ugly after all.

The best way to "tint" them is to actually paint them with thinned out black paint and then clear over them. My body shop has done numerous ones for me. They can even match them to the color of the car. The charged me about $300 for the pair. It was worth it. They looked great.
