Shifter Sticks in Park
When I press on the brake, the lever is stuck in park, and it's locked it won't move.
I pressed the pedal again, and this time it came free. I was testing it out, and gradually throughout the day it's getting harder and harder to come out of park. Sometimes it takes 10 tries to get out of park...
Sometimes when I press the brake I hear the lever click loud, and sometimes it clicks a tiny bit...
Is there any DIY fixes for this or is this a mandatory trip to the dealer?

Went to my friends house, and OF COURSE I put it in Park... that's right, it never came out of it.
Called Roadside... they told me that there is NO WAY to get that unlocked. Had to tow it... towed it MB Southampton... they called me, told me that I will wait 8 to 10 days before they even LOOK at the car...
Called my service advisior, they are towing it back to my home dealership... 45 miles away...
I told her that they Roadside guy who screwed up the electric screwed up the shifter too

Internal plastic lever is there to prevent children from inadvertedly moving the gearstick lever out of Park. Removing the lever may cause your car to roll away down a hill with your kids inside.
Choose from original plastic or high strength aluminum. Repairs can be done by any reputable MBZ shop in about an hour or two. No need for recoding with Star Diagnosis.

When this happened to me i kept playing with the shift knob moving it side to side up and down until it shifted down as it got worse it took more time to get it out of park
Also you could of removed the shiftknob and hit the metal shifter with a mallet and that would of took it out of park. Had two of my friends in there sclasses do the same thing.
