after-market extended warranty?
I'm new to this forum. Have a 2001 S430 with only 26,000 miles. After reading about the Airmatic problems in the other treads, I'm thinking about buy some extended warranty? Did anyone else bought such a warranty? If so, is it from MB or after-market? And how did it work out for you?
Thanks

before I drove off the lot. Mercedes are extremely expensive to repair. As I have learned, the computor system in these cars are networked with fiber optics.
Anyway I drove the car 53 miles home. Loved it all the way. Three days later the car was resting on the ground parked in my garage. The air suspension had collapsed.
As it turned out, the pump had fried because one of the struts had a crack in it. This crack caused the air to leak out, which in turn caused the pump to stay on. Too much to handle. It eventually burned out.
As for Interstate, they denied my claim saying the problem was preexisiting.
I have managed to convince them that if the problem was preexisting I could not have driven the car at all. With a collapsed suspension and my 18" AMG wheels, I could not even turn the steering wheel!
Not happy with this company. But their policy is to cover only those parts that have total failure. The battle continues.
Plus while in the shop, I have had the ignition switch replaced and the shifting module too. The terrific cupholders in the arm rest should never be used. As for me, a previous owner spilled something into the shifter housing fouling the circuits. A $400 headache there.
The battle continues. Good luck with yours.

My wty. company went bankrupt too, out of Florida? I used it for my BMW 740i Sport. A waste of $$ in the first place, as the car has needed very little.
I've read that AAA is a good outfit, also my local MB dealer reccomended one, name escapes me now. That would be the route I'd go, so at least I know the dealer will work with them.
