Also, have you considered just upgrading the entire vehicle to a 2003+? It seems to me that would be much easier.
I am constantly reading posts about upgrading tail-lights, head-lights, plain side rearviews to blinking, old grills to new grills, ad nauseum. Just buy a newer car rather than trying to make a dinosaur look like a newer one.

1) Will add negligible value to the car on resale ( a lot of people want OEM stock)
2) Will not be covered by the new car or CPO warranty.
