Exclamation Brakes make a squiking noise! Help!

I'm not sure if the brake pads are worn out. I don't beleve it is worn out because I only have 16000 miles on my 06 s500. Also, the rotors are not scratched or anything. Is the squiking normal? Has this happened to anyone with this low miles. Please help me out. I will be Greatful!

Your pads will normally wear out around 15-25K miles. Rotors are twice that. You may have to apply anti-squeel gel on your brake system. These squeels normally come from the back of the pads that make contact with the calipers. There's intense heat and pressure around that area and that causes squeels when its dry. The gel simply lubricates those points and reduces noise.

What brand of gel do I use? How do I apply it? I'll try it, but I'll get it checked out still. Thanks 4 the help.

You can pick up any anti squeel jel from any auto parts store around you. They all work the same. Please refer to this previous post for reference. If you have any questions, there are plenty of people here with knowledge of these cars that can help you.

Depending on your terrain and driving habit, you may need pad replacement at 16000 miles. Some brake pads formulate the pad to squeal when they reach 1/4 life remaining.

Lightbulb

I got regular maintanince a couple of weeks ago. I only had 16,950 miles exactly on toh car. Guess whay! The front brake pads were grinded down 7mm. That is the limit. The rear brake pads were grinded down 9mm. That is 2mm past the limit. I couldn't believe how bad the pads were at such low mileage. Thr pads were changed and don't make a sqweaking sound any more(except a few light sqweaks here and there). I would like to thank everybody who replyed to this thread. You are all awsome! Thank You!!!
