Got my very cool New Style OEM Smart Key today !

Got it today and for 61.00 bucks delivered I am thrilled. Opened it up walked in the garage and started her right up. This key comes programmed from MB but you will have to fax your drivers license and reg. or pink to get it. Once you place your order they will e-mail the request to fax your proof. This key has the blade insert sold seperatley to manually open the trunk and glove.
ps. Thanks to the boys in the C Class Forum for bringin this awesome upgrade to my attention.
Go to http://oempartsdirect.com/
Then go to: ( 2 ) Search by factory part number and in drop down box where it says (select make) put Mercedes.
Then cut n paste these part numbers
2117663606 ---- for the KEY STANDARD add to cart
Then cut n paste
2037665006 ---- for the BLADE SMART add to cart
You will obviously need to enter your VIN # in this process so have it handy.

Is the key work fine on the three button lock, unlock and trunk? How about do you need to stay near the driver door to lock and unlock your car? or It's just work fine within a distance anywhere?

I'll do that because a search on their site came up empty.
In fact even a search for just smart key as a key word comes up zero results.
Yet, entering the pn from the op gets the item....interesting, maybe they're
trying to keep this low key (pun intended)

Just ordered mine, and they will even send it here to the U.K. for $30 postage. $81.58 total. Will keep you all posted as to how long it takes and if the key works, for anybody here in the U.K. thinking of upgrading, as the cheapest price I can find over here is $149

the other method would be to wait until Jamie responds to you by email and
you can REPLY and attach the scan of the requested documents or info.
p.s. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE....of asking for replacement key which will
come newly coded and will render invalid your existing keys. ask for this as
an ADDITIONAL key so that it will be coded using the info in your car/VIN's
stored profile...and can be used in conjunction with your existing keys.

Part numbers are 211-766-36-06 for remote and 203-766-50-06 for the blade. They are 48.38 and 3.20 respectively. I will need you to either fax or e-mail me proof of ownership. This can either be the title or the registration. Also I will need a copy of your valid drivers license matching the title. Our fax number is 540-777-3034. This is our company policy, along with Mercedes Benz to ensure your safety.
This is for my 04 S500...should be the same for '00~'06...
Wait..time out...thats the same PN as for the standard key

Got mine on Jan. 30th and I placed the order Jan. 17th!! Everything works fine, I tried the lock from about 40 feet and it works fine. It did come in a MB package with all the information that you would see if you picked up a part at your local dealer. Mine is not a keyless go car.

My last post on this got deleted so I'll try again. This was the response I received Re: keyless go keys.
Keyless go is more expensive. But the remote is still the standard black remote. Mercedes is changing the remote to the chrome style, but not for 6-8 months Jamie
I asked for a price on the old style but have not received info yet. When I do I will pass it along.
