Nice car, butThe kind of people driving it!!
I visited the forum a few times and I wonder about the following.
Are Mercedes owners in the USA associated with a certain class or race of people?
Reason for my curiosity is the following.
I live in the Netherlands, I can not recall ever getting a remark about the VW's I own/have owned. The Mercedes seems to be associated with (just a few examples):
-untrustworthy second hand car dealers
-trailer-park residents/gypsies
-white trash
-pimps
-drug dealers on the way up

-farmers
-gestapo cruiser

etc.
Sometimes this is said in a 'friendly manner' but in your face. Other times it is discussed behind your back.
I drive my S-class with pleasure and I don't bother to much what other people say/think about me. But I know my wife does not like to drive it herself for that reason.
How are reactions in the US towards the bigger Benz-types? Envious? Good for you? Way to go!
Let me know about your personal experiences (and how you dealt with the less friendly ones)
kind regards
Down here in OC it's any man's car really.
Mostly though, Persians, Arabs, and Asians.
Nowadays, any shmoe can afford a benz down in SoCal. The stereotype is no longer relevant here.

1) we have more money than sense
2) where there is money there is a lot of traffic - you will want a nice car
3) brainwashing
4) it shows "you've made it" (made it where? who the fu$k knows)
5) in the USA - waste it good -
For that matter, look at this also:
1) all the SUV losers that never go "off-road"
2) all the people that buy trucks and never do any work with it (yes it's true some people think it's cool to drive around in a truck)
America is all about being a poser.
In a lot of dutch cities you can find neighbourhoods where they live-do their business.
I regard myself quite liberal, but to be honest a lot of people I know call me names that point a slight bit more to the right/wing politicians.
Maybe off/topic Holland is still a nice country to live in. I do not think about moving (also not to the US, on the other hand I can drive real big Benzes for a lot less money then I can over here
)
