My Airmatic struts are bad and was wondering if anyone has taken on the task of replacing them by themself? I'm mechanically inclined but this might be more than I can chew if too complicated. Any help would be appreciated.

 

every s class goes through this dont waste your time doing it urself take it to a dealer and have them do it. if u have the extended warranty they will cover it. its complicated to do.. try searching the forum i remember seeing a thread similar to the question your asking there might be directions there. good luck though!!

 

Thanks Fusion, I did do a search on this and two other forums but cannot find anything. Did find an excellent thread by Sunman on repairing the struts, but not replacing em.

 

Are you sure you need to replace them? Or just repair the tops of them? What are your symptoms? If you rode on them to long deflated, you probably tore the bellows inside the strut and you will need to replace it then.

 

I will need to replace the RF and repair the LF as that is showing signs of cracking and will leak soon.
