Question 2003 MASERATI QUATTROPORTE vs. S-CLASS

In direct competition with the S-class will be the newly-styled Maserati QP sedan.

http://www.cardesignnews.com/news/20...aserati-qtrpt/

If you do a google search for it, a ton of sites will come, most of which show conceptual artist's drawings of the yet-to-be released car (expected Fall 2003).

I would like to hear from the styling experts out there based on the prototype pics, what their views are. I've always loved Italian-designed autos, and this one will be designed by the one of the best and famous in the automotive circle, Pininfarina!

In my mind, it is questionable as to how the quality, electronics, and mechanics of Maserati (now owned by Ferrari) will fare against the best Germany has to offer.

mebbe...

...it was a co-project that I am recalling.

In the mid to late 80's there was this really ugly Chrysler looking two door coupe with a 70s popular naughehyde type roof that had two little round porthole windows in the rear sides with the Trident symbol etched into them. It was a Maserati badged car.

I think that's why I thought Chrysler owned Maserati.

Thanks for setting me straight.

Tempermental Italian exotic with basic technology, crazy parts prices and little after market support verses German Ubercar with traditional reliability, solidity and dealers everywhere.
